Young, fresh and content-oriented films have been rare in Telugu Cinema as many actors want to be part of the big commercial film more than exploring other genres. But in recent times, things have been changing with audiences also encouraging all sorts of films with their exposure to world cinema. Promising a different experience to audiences with a slice of life drama in a comic way, Narudi Brathuku Natana released on 25th October all over. Let's discuss about the film in detail.

Plot:

Satya (Shivakumar Ramachandravarapu) gets inspired by legend Kamal Haasan to become an actor. But he gets criticised as a bad actor by everyone. His father asks him to find a job and make a house of his own. While he is rich and settled, he doesn't want his son to be useless. Satya, on the other hand, is consumed by the passion to become an actor. He feels that his life would be devoid of any meaning if he ends up not achieveing what he is set out to.

One day, he leaves to Kerala to understand, observe and learn from life, how to react and act on screen. He meets D Salman (Nithin Prasanna) and many others in his journey in the God's own country. Where does his travel lead to? What did he set out to achieve and what does he learn through this travel? Watch the movie to know more.

Analysis :

Shivakumar Ramachandravarapu performed well in an author backed role. He understood the conviction of the writer-director in presenting the emotions. But there are no such special moments that would make his performance a memorable one. Nithin Prasanna got a very good role to perform and he took it with both the hands. He is convincing in very scene and gives life to the film. All others are good in the portions they have been given.

Production values are good for a movie with limited budget and the locations chosen are pleasant to the eye. Visually movie is quality and it explores Kerala pretty well. Nyx Lopez music is neither very good nor bad. It is fine and works for the film to an extent. A Production house like People Media Factory supporting such a small budget film and giving it a wide release is appreciable. They have given the movie much needed boost and reach for the promising content, one has to praise for their commitment.

Coming to writing, the film starts off well with the establishment of the character but then it doesn't have moments that connect us with the main character. As the movie is all about his journey, it would have been better to see more about him and his insecurities. His obsession with the idea of becoming an actor is fine but then what pushes him to keep that dream alive is under established. Had the writing tried to concentrate more on him in the first hour with the scenes that explore his inner turmoil that is asking him to not compromise would have set up the character even better.

D Salman character is well written but the scenes don't really stay with us. The emotional core that gives this journey a proper meaning could have been stronger. Having said that the performances keep the movie engaging and the predictability doesn't hamper it too much. While the feel good factor works to an extent movie doesn't really live up to its complete potential.

TeluguOne Perspective :

Narudi Brathuku Natana comes with a good message about living life than just running behind our obsessions and desires. It could have been better but it ends up being a decent one time watch.
