MAD became a smashing blockbuster when no one anticipated it to create such a sensation. Turning it into a franchise, the makers have planned MAD Square continuing the fun journey with the lovely gang. The movie released with huge anticipation on 28th March and let's discuss about the film in detail.

Plot:
Laddu (Vishnu Oi) doesn't want to invite his close friends, MAD gang - Manoj (Ram Nithin), Ashok (Narne Nithin) and DD (Sangeeth Shobhan). But they arrive for him and start their own sort of chaos. Suddenly, the bride runs away from the marriage and MAD gang take Laddu to Goa for his Honeymoon. There they meet MAX (Sunil), gangster and what happens next is for you to watch on screen.

Analysis :

MAD Square tries to carry the first film's vibe in the starting 40 minutes and that helps the film in a big way. In fact, those are the best moments in the film, too. Then on it dips slightly in the storytelling and the jokes flow decreases big time. Still, the movie has enough elements to engage us with its jokes.

Movie is majorly aimed at younger audiences and it works for them with casualness in the conversations and colloquial punches. But the film falls flat when it tries to be a heist comedy and springs back to life in the climax. But in comparison to the first one, MAD Square doesn't really live up to it yet it is a good timepass comedy on its own.

Sangeeth Shobhan again showcased great ease in acting and dialogue delivery. His timing saved some flat punches but the writing could have been better for him in the second hour. Ram Nithin is fine and Narne Nithin did well. Vishnu Oi got majority of punches but still it feels overcooked at times for him.

Priyanka Jawalkar is beautiful but her performance did not add any spice to it. Others like Raghu Babu, Anudeep KV, Reshma Pasupuleti all are just present. Subhalekha Sudhakar and Sunil did not get such hilarious punches but they're good.

On the whole, the movie works for youth audiences and production values are good. Some technical issues like rushed VFX and edit needed a lot more fine tuning but MAD Square is watchable and engaging.

TeluguOne Perspective :

MAD Square is fun enough to watch in theatres.
