‘Avunu’ a mystery thriller was the talk of town since many days has finally hit the screens today. With Kshanam doing very well at the box office under the PVP banner, Avunu’s expectations have also gone up! So has it lived upto the expectations? Let us read the review.
Story:
Police have arrested Sameera (Regina Cassandra) suspecting her hand in the murder of DSP Ashok (Naveen Chandra). But Sameera says that she killed Ashok for defending herself against his violence & she gets bail.
Sub Inspector Vikram Vasudev comes to rescue her after coming to know that a very well-known lawyer is handling this case from police’s side. He asks Sameera to narrate the entire story to him, but Vikram does not believe the story narrated by her. So does Sameera tell the real incident to Vikram? Who has murdered Ashok? Did Sameera really kill him? Answers to these questions form the movie story.
Analysis :
The story which starts with the murder of Askoh, suddenly becomes a conversation of Sameera & Vikram. No sooner it becomes a little boring, the story comes up with a good twist. That twist changes the mood completely! Bit by bit a lot of twists come up & the director keeps the audience engaged.
There was a gossip stating that it is a remake of the Bollywood movie ‘Badla’ staring Amitabh, Tapsee. But frankly speaking, this movie is a remake of a Spanish crime thriller movie “The Invisible Guest” & the director has revealed it.
Plus Points:
Gripping Screenplay
Background Music
Twists
Minus Points:
Showing the rape scene again & again
Lack of relief point
Performances:
No one can be given more credits & credits cannot be taken away from others. All of them have performed equally well & done justice to their characters.
Adivi Sesh has once again portrayed his acting skills very smartly. Even by looks he was completely immersed in that role! This role will surely get him a name of an extremely versatile actor.
Regina on the other hand has received a very crucial role after a long time & she has given her best to it. Seems like this role will give her a complete U turn as an actress.
Naveen has received a good character as Ashok. Murali Sharma as Vinay gave his best. Adarsh aka Nihal who acted as Vijay’s son, has a very good acting career.
TeluguOne Perspective :
The crime thriller will probably not please the family audience since there are scenes which pin point the rape incident again & again. ‘Avunu’ is sure to please the multiplex audience.
