She stays along with Vamsi in his house during that night because it was raining heavily. As they explore the house in the night, they find a diary written in 2002. They find out that it was written by the man who owned that house in the past. His wife gets killed and she is rumored to be staying there as a ghost. And the events mentioned in the diary start happened to this pair. The rest of the story is about unlocking the mystery behind the house.
Analysis :
Diary is touted as a sequel to Mantra movie. But there is no resemblance between Mantra and Diary except that both of them are thrillers. Diary takes off in an interesting way and there is good revelation in the interval. But the narration goes off-center in the second half and the climax appears comical. Though there are a few chilling moments in the movie, logic-less climax and slack second half work against the movie.
TeluguOne Perspective :
Sivaji is very good in this movie. He improvised many scenes and dialogues. Shraddha Das is good in the role of mystic Maya. She has less to talk and more to express. She suited the role well though one would raise doubts about the sophistication in expressions of a dancing girl (characterization inconsistency). She extremely glamorous as she wears nothing but a full sleeves shirt in most of the first half. Dr. Siva Prasad provides comedy though it is loud. Sridhar is good as the guy from flashback. The girl who did Sridhar’s wife is adequate. Yandamuri Veerendranath did a special appearance in the climax and he has got good comedy timing. Jeeva is fine.
