Vettaiyan ticket rates to decrease drastically in Telangana

Vettaiyan starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan released on 10th October. The movie received mixed response as few liked the plot point while many did not feel the second half carried the emotion properly.

The movie did not receive a rousing reception like Jailer for Rajinikanth but the movie cannot be dismissed as his worst. The movie is getting consistent yet mild response from crowds at theatres. TJ Gnanavel, the director, concentrated on content while trying to balance Superstar's image as well. While Anirudh Ravichander's music received praises all over.

The producers have announced that the movie collected Rs.250 crores gross at the worldwide box office. But the ticket prices have been astronomically in few areas and hence, the distributors have decided to keep them at affordable level in Telangana state for now.

From 18th October, the movie will play with Rs.200 ticket price in Multiplexes while at City Single screens it will be Rs.150 and in district single screens it will be Rs.110. The distributors have taken this decision after consultation with producers, Lyca Productions and they believe it would help in attracting family audiences to theatres.

While this is a welcome change and acceptable decision by makers to have a flexible pricing after first week, few people are stating this as an example of Rajinikanth film is underperforming in Telangana state.
