Nagarjuna States He Wished and Prayed for Akhil's Lenin
The Lenin success meet held on Saturday afternoon was filled with gratitude, celebrations, and heartfelt emotions as the team reflected on the film's positive reception. While the event celebrated the movie's success, it was the emotional speeches from the cast and crew that became the biggest talking points. Producer Naga Vamsi praised Nagarjuna Akkineni for giving the team complete creative freedom throughout the making of Lenin. He said Nagarjuna never imposed his opinions on the filmmakers and instead trusted everyone to work in their comfort zones, allowing them to bring out their best. According to Vamsi, that faith played a major role in the film's success. Lead actress Bhagyashri Borse turned emotional while thanking the Hyderabad audience for showering her with immense love. She said the city had become very close to her heart and added that if she ever had to do her final film, she would want it to be in Hyderabad, earning loud applause from those present. Akhil Akkineni thanked audiences for setting aside the disappointment of his previous films and embracing Lenin. He said viewers gave the film a fair chance despite his past setbacks and promised to continue working hard to entertain them with better films in the future. The celebrations had already witnessed an emotional father-son moment on Friday evening when Nagarjuna and Akhil embraced each other after the film's encouraging response. The hug quickly went viral across social media. During Saturday's success meet, that clip was played on the big screen, leaving Nagarjuna teary-eyed once again as the audience applauded the touching moment. Ending the event on an emotional note, Nagarjuna revealed that he had never asked God for anything in his life because he believed he had already been blessed with everything he needed. He said he would always visit Lord Venkateswara only to express his gratitude. However, before the release of Lenin, he broke that lifelong practice and prayed for just one thing—that the film would become a success for his son Akhil. He called Jr. NTR has his eldest son and thanked him for giving voice over to grab audiences into the story immediately. He praised every team member for their consolidated work and supporting the vision of director Murali Krishna Abburu. His heartfelt confession received a thunderous response and became the defining moment of the success meet. Pawan Kalyan Underwent Shoulder Surgery Successfully
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan underwent a successful shoulder surgery at a hospital in Mumbai on Saturday morning to treat a severe rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder. The procedure lasted nearly three-and-a-half hours, and doctors confirmed that he is currently under medical observation. According to an official statement, medical specialists had recently advised the Deputy Chief Minister to undergo surgery at the earliest after diagnosing serious rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders, along with multiple muscle tears. However, Pawan Kalyan chose to complete his pre-scheduled official responsibilities before undergoing the operation. Doctors decided against operating on both shoulders simultaneously, citing the intense post-operative pain and recovery challenges such a procedure would involve. As a result, surgery was first performed on the right shoulder, while the left shoulder is expected to undergo a similar procedure after a recovery period of around two months. The injuries reportedly date back to 2016, when Pawan Kalyan sustained damage to his shoulder. Although doctors had recommended adequate rest at the time, he continued participating in public meetings and political activities. During the Jana Sena Party's Porata Yatra in 2018, and later during election campaigns and the Varahi Yatra, frequent handshakes and enthusiastic interactions with supporters are said to have aggravated the injuries. Despite recurring pain, he continued with his public engagements over the years. Medical examinations conducted earlier this year during treatment for a nasal procedure revealed the extent of the shoulder damage. Doctors were reportedly surprised that he had continued to manage such severe injuries for nearly a decade without surgical intervention. Following further evaluations in Mumbai a few weeks ago, the surgical team finalized the treatment plan, leading to Saturday's operation. Pawan Kalyan is currently recovering under the supervision of his medical team, while doctors will assess his progress before scheduling surgery for his left shoulder. Arjun Das and Sandy Master clash in Super Hero Babu
Super Hero Babu, which is titled Super Hero in Tamil, is shaping up to be one of the most interesting films. For the past few days, social media has lapped up the film's three looks and given the film a thumbs-up. The colourful posters, featuring the film's characters, indicate that the film is going to be a universal superhero entertainer suitable for all ages. Cinema enthusiasts surely have something to look forward to from the movie. The film’s world and premise are going to be totally out of the box. Super Hero Babu will have a proper Telugu-Tamil bilingual release, ensuring it reaches a wider audience across the two languages. Super Hero Babu is presented by National Award-winning producer K.S. Sinish under the banner of Soldiers Film Factory and jointly produced by Shanjan G of Redacted Studios, which with its passionate drive to create more intriguing movies has lined up more projects scheduled at different stages of production. Having made his directorial debut with Balloon, K.S. Sinish steadily evolved as a producer by backing films such as Dikkiloona and the National Award-winning Parking, both of which reflected his consistent inclination towards fresh and engaging storytelling. Continuing that journey, Super Hero Babu stands as another significant addition to the banner's growing repertoire of content-driven entertainers crafted for audiences across all sections. The versatile Arjun Das, who has carved a remarkable niche through his effortless transition from a powerful antagonist to an accomplished protagonist, headlines Super Hero in what promises to be another compelling addition to his evolving filmography. He has already amassed a massive popularity among the Telugu audience, thanks to his role in Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG. This growing fame in the Telugu states makes his presence in Super Hero a huge asset. Sharing screen space with him is the trending heroine Teju Ashwini, whose impressive performances in her movies have elevated expectations around this film. Sandy Master, who essays the antagonist in Super Hero Babu, has also been attracting widespread attention with his growing body of work. Notably, his gripping performance in Lokah – Chapter One was highly praised by Telugu viewers, who appreciated his intense acting chops. We also liked him immensely in Kishkindhapuri, whose flashback was powered by his poignant performance. Along with his work in many hit movies including the recent release Parimala & Co, Sandy's inclusion in Super Hero Babu makes this face-off one of the film's exciting highlights. Sandy has done this movie at a time when he has been busy choreographing dance numbers for big-ticket entertainers. Firestorm from Pawan Kalyan's OG and Monica from Rajinikanth's Coolie were done by him. He has collaborated in the past with big names such as Anirudh Ravichander. Super Hero Babu marks the directorial debut of Vignesh Venugopal, who previously worked as an assistant director to K.S. Sinish during the making of Balloon. Continuing his long-standing commitment to nurturing promising filmmaking talent, Sinish introduces yet another fresh directorial voice after successfully launching Karthik Yogi through Dikkiloona and Ram through the National Award-winning Parking. Despite this being his first directorial venture, Vignesh's clarity of vision, disciplined approach, and confident storytelling have earned the appreciation of the entire team. Incidentally, the film's protagonist (Arjun Das) and antagonist (Sandy), have both made a name for themselves for playing negative roles. And they are locking horns in Super Hero Babu. Music for Super Hero Babu is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, who did emotionally appealing compositions in Telugu like Kushi, Hi Nanna and The Girlfriend. His Midas-touch to this film has already raised the bars of expectations for Super Hero. Idhayam Murali Movie Review
Cast: Atharvaa, Preity Mukhundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Natty Subramaniam, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar, Jonita Gandhi, Fahadh Faasil, Malavika Mohanan Crew: Written by Aakash Baskaran, Dravid Selvam, S. Ramana Girivasan Cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, CH Sai Edited by Pradeep E. Ragav Music by Thaman S Directed and Produced by Aakash Baskaran Atharvaa being son of yesteryear actor Murali, who became hugely popular as Idhayam Murali, taking that title and making a movie around it, immediately sparked huge interest. Preity Mukundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Niharika NM, Malavaika Mohanan, Fahadh Faasil, Thaman S and many others being part of it added more curiosity to the project. The movie finally released after a long wait and let's discuss about it in detail. Plot: Idhayam Murali (Atharvaa) is travelling back to India from US with his friends. They talk to a stranger (Fahadh Faasil) and start narrating the love stories of Idhaya. As a school going kid, he falls in love with his teacher, Geetha (Jonitha Gandhi). Later, at plus one and plus two stage, he falls in love with Sam (Preity Mukundhan). As a man looking to expand his business post college, he falls in love with Amudha (Kayadu Lohar). But he is unable to express his feelings to anyone of them and his uncle (Natty) fixes his marriage. Can he truly find his love and be happy? Watch the movie to know more. Analysis: Atharvaa is more comfortable in scenes that demand restraint than him being over expressive. He tries to approach both with similar consistency but writing confuses shyness with anxiety and lack of expression. If a character is so shy that they fail to express emotions with words then that characteristic should appear throughout not selectively at few places. Even if that selective anxiousness or shyness is what writing is pointing at, it should be given time to register. Idhayam Murali rushes so much that it wants to jump to next big moment and have characters talking or background score fill it up rather than let silences take over. Certain films and characters need that introspection, those silences and some space for them to be able to solve those problems. If every character is designed to some way or somehow advise the main lead, then what journey would be go through. Aakash Baskaran fills up the screen with actors like Fahadh Faasil, Rakshan, Dravid, Sudhakar, Thaman, Niharika and then even adds Jonitha Gandhi, Malavika Mohanan, Raiza Wilson so that no scene or shot feels empty. But the main characters in his script doesn't seem like they are in constant need of advice. They look more than capable of handling internal conflicts. See Kayadu Lohar and Atharvaa Interval episode when no one is trying to egg them or constantly advising, we see how two characters behave and bring moments from those interactions. The similar thing is missing with Preity Mukundhan scenes and the movie ends up being more about friends rather than the love story which forms the basic crux. Nostalic moments in the first half and the twist works. Later, we don't get answers about how the lead characte decided to look past it. Even after Interval episode, we don't see any reflection on it. More or less it feels like we are left to see fragments rather than complete story of the titular character which works against in second hour. Atharvaa is good. Preity Mukundhan is also good in the portions she is given. Kayadu Lohar did her best in Interval scene and Mart scene. Fahadh Faasil is wasted. Dravid, Rakshan fail to evoke laughs. Sudhakar is fine in few portions. Niharika and Thaman just irritate. Score and music by Thaman are good, cinematography, production values are glossy. But the intention of presenting a man who is unable to express his love when the other women are ready to accept troupe feels repetitive and hence, losses value making the movie a decent attempt. Positives: Atharvaa and Preity Mukundhan scenes 90's Nostalgia Moments Kayadu Lohar scenes Interval portion BGM Negatives: Thaman's character and performance Draggy and Repetitive Second Hour Over chatty scenes Bottomline: Decently Executed but writing feels too repetitive and convoluted. Varun Tej's Korean Kanakaraju Locks August Release
Varun Tej's upcoming horror comedy Korean Kanakaraju is finally heading to theatres on August 7. The makers officially announced the release date with a new poster featuring the actor in an energetic avatar, signalling that promotions for the film are entering the final phase. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, Korean Kanakaraju has generated curiosity ever since its announcement because of its unusual cross-cultural premise. The film blends horror and comedy while exploring a story that unfolds across different cultures, making it one of the more unconventional Telugu releases this year. A major portion of the film has been shot in Vietnam, with the team choosing several unexplored international locations to give the film a fresh visual appeal. The promotional campaign has also worked in the film's favour. The first single, "Kamsahamnida," composed by Thaman S and sung by Sid Sriram, turned into a popular chartbuster and added to the buzz surrounding the project. The latest release date poster further hints at the film's colourful and entertaining tone. Apart from Varun Tej, the film stars Ritika Nayak as the female lead, while comedian Satya plays a key role. Given the success of Satya's comic timing in recent years, his combination with Varun Tej is expected to be one of the major highlights of the film. Backed by UV Creations, Korean Kanakaraju is aiming to capitalise on the beginning of the festive season. With an offbeat premise, overseas backdrop and a strong promotional response so far, the film will be looking to translate the pre-release buzz into box office success. Dhamaal 4 Movie Review
Cast: Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jafferi, Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Upendra Limaye, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Anjali Anand, Esha Gupta Crew: Written by Balvinder Singh Suri, Paritosh Painter, Vedd Prakash Cinematography by Sudhir K. Chaudhary Edited by Sanjay Sankla Music by Tanishk Bagchi, Aditya Dev, Neelkamal Singh, Sanju Rathod, Guru Randhawa, Gill Machrai, Rony Ajnali, Amar Mohile Directed by Indra Kumar Produced by Ajay Devgn, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashok Thakeria, Indra Kumar, Anand Pandit, Kumar Mangat Pathak Ajay Devgn has been working majorly in franchise films. He is targetting the audiences who loved earlier films and trying to find an easy success. While the franchise fatigue is catching up, he is still trying hard to find that eluding success. Now, he has come up with Dhamaal 4 and let's discuss about the film in detail. Plot: Guddu Rastogi (Ajay Devgn) fights with Pirate Leader Adhoora (Ravi Kishan) for the map of a treasure. Only Prithvi (Upendra Limaye) can decode the map but he escapes from Guddu and Adhoora. Lallan (Riteish Deshmukh) wants to marry a rich girl but he misunderstands Paaro (Anjali Anand) for a rich person. He marries her. Adi (Arshad Warsi) is married to Rosy (Sanjeeda Sheikh) and she stays away from him due to Manav (Javed Jafferi). Meanwhile Guddu falls in love with Aaliya (Esha Gupta) but her kids doesn't accept him. All of them get to know about the treasure while chasing Prithvi and who will find it forms the rest of the film. Analysis: The movie tries hard to sell the similar jokes with call backs to the franchise films. Each scene is either a call back or a repeat of the similar scene. Ajay Devgn looks completely disinterested and many of his scenes are shot with a green screen. The shoddy edit and VFX are very clearly visible with him on screen more than others. He seems to be more or less given up on trying to tell good stories on screen. Riteish Deshmukh gets better storyline but his chemistry with Anjali Anand is not absolutely perfect to route for him. Sanjeeda Sheikh frames look too airburshed and Javed Jafferi jokes don't land either. The film feels like a random exhibition of gags that are popular within the franchise and in some Hollywood comedies. VFX work is so forgettable that every frame looks like an After Effects edit rather than people really sitting through and putting a thought to it. Ravi Kishan scenes, Upendra Limaye character and every beat just becomes abysmal from start to end. Dhamaal became a surprise hit and Double Dhamaal, Total Dhamaal succeeded despite being low on effort. Looks like the fourth film is also made with similar outlook. While some genuine moments seem to be attempted at places but they do not land well enough as the movie just feels too draggy and unfunny. Another franchise killer! Positives: Few Genuine Moments Negatives: Actors Performances Over dependency on VFX No Original jokes Try too Hard to tickle audiences with call backs Bottomline: No Dhamaal only noise! Rating: 2/5 Disclaimer: The views/opinions expressed in this review are personal views/opinions shared by the writer and organisation does not hold a liability to them. Lenin Movie Review
Cast: Akhil Akkineni, Bhagyashri Borse, Eswari Rao, Pramod Panju, Sivaji, Brahmaji, Sunil Crew: Music Director: Thaman S Cinematography: Leon Britto Writer-Director: Murali Krishna Abburi Producers: Naga Vamsi, Nagarjuna Akkineni Ending the long wait for fans and Telugu cinema lovers, Akhil Akkineni graces the screen today as Lenin. With early morning shows starting at 8 AM, the festive atmosphere among fans is palpable. Let's see how the movie fares. Plot: Lenin (Akhil) is a pure-hearted orphan who arrives at Bharathimitta Sreeramapuram in Chittoor district—a village said to have witnessed the teardrop of Goddess Draupadi. Village head Jayanthi (Eswari Rao) and her son Vasanth (Pramod Panju) take him in, treating him like their own. He falls deeply in love with Bharathi (Bhagyashri Borse), a smart and educated young woman, and they get married with the family's blessings. In a story that seemingly has no negative characters, who is the real villain? Does Lenin face a grave injustice, and how does he retaliate? What is the connection to Draupadi's teardrop and Yatiraju (Sivaji)? Watch the movie to find out. Analysis: The first fifteen minutes play out normally, but the narrative quickly builds curiosity. The romance between Lenin and Bharathi feels fresh, and the episode featuring Bharathi's sister, Vaidehi, stands out as a major highlight that anchors the first half. The second half is the film's biggest asset. Shocking character turns from Yatiraju and Vasanth deliver pure goosebumps. Akhil gives a career-best, spectacular performance; you only see the character 'Lenin' on screen, especially during the phenomenal pre-climax and climax. Bhagyashri Borse looks gorgeous and performs wonderfully. Sivaji, Brahmaji, and Sunil impress in their respective roles, while Pramod Panju shines in a solid negative role. Technically, the film is brilliant. Thaman's background score is a massive pillar of strength, creating an intense, euphoric theater experience. Leon Britto's cinematography takes the audience right into the world of the film, supported by great production values. Writer-director Murali Krishna Abburi succeeds immensely; though the first half is just decent, his execution in the second half is outstanding. Positives: Engaging story Performances by Akhil, Bhagyashri Borse, and the entire cast Outstanding background score Thrilling pre-climax and climax Negatives: Lack of substantial story progression in the first half Bottomline: Akhil impresses with a spectacular one-man show as Lenin. Rating: 2.75/5 Disclaimer: The views/opinions expressed in this review are personal views/opinions shared by the writer and organisation does not hold a liability to them. Jana Nayagan Finally gets Censor Certificate
After weeks of uncertainty surrounding its censor process, CM Vijay's Jana Nayagan has finally cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film has been awarded an 'A' (Adults Only) certificate, clearing the final hurdle ahead of its theatrical release and putting it firmly on track for a July 23 release. The certification comes as a major relief for the makers after reports of delays during the censor process triggered speculation about the film's release plans. With the CBFC formalities now complete, the team can now shift its complete focus towards promotions in the final countdown to release. An 'A' certificate typically points to intense violence, mature themes or strong language. Going by the film's promotional material, Jana Nayagan appears to embrace a gritty and hard-hitting narrative, making the certification consistent with its overall tone. The last film Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, alongside Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with Sathyan Sooryan handling cinematography and Pradeep E. Ragav serving as the editor. The film is produced by KVN Productions on a grand scale and marks Vijay's final film before his full-fledged entry into politics, making it one of the most anticipated Tamil releases of the year. With the censor hurdle finally behind it, all eyes are now on Jana Nayagan as it gears up for its worldwide release on July 23. The combination of Vijay's star power, H. Vinoth's action-packed storytelling and Anirudh's chart-topping music has already generated significant buzz, and the coming days are expected to see the film's promotional campaign gather further momentum. Chiru showcases extraordinary commitment even at his age
Megastar Chiranjeevi is once again demonstrating why his passion for cinema remains unmatched. The shooting of his much-awaited film with blockbuster director Bobby Kolli, tentatively titled #ChiruBobby2 / #Chiru158, is progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad, where the team is currently filming one of the most ambitious action episodes of the project. Produced on a lavish scale by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, the film reunites Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli after the blockbuster success of Waltair Veerayya. The ongoing schedule features a grand rain action sequence choreographed by renowned stunt masters Ram-Lakshman, with a large number of fighters participating in what is set to be one of the biggest action blocks not only in the film but also in Chiranjeevi's career. Chiranjeevi's extraordinary commitment during the shoot has become the biggest talking point. He reached the location at 9 AM and spent nearly 12 hours filming continuously in the rain, taking only a brief lunch break. Despite the physically demanding conditions, he performed the action portions with remarkable energy and precision, leaving the entire unit impressed by his discipline and endurance. Chiranjeevi insisted on giving every shot his full effort, maintaining the same enthusiasm from the first take to the last. His dedication during this demanding schedule has drawn admiration from the cast and crew alike, further reinforcing his reputation as one of Indian cinema's hardest-working stars. The massive rain fight is expected to be a standout moment in the film, promising an adrenaline-pumping theatrical experience. With production moving ahead at full speed, the makers are also preparing to unveil the film's title teaser soon. Backing the film is a strong technical team that includes music composer Thaman S, cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan, production designer Avinash Kolla, and editor Antony Ruben. The screenplay has been written by Kona Venkat and K. Chakravarthy Reddy, with additional screenplay by Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri, while Bhanu-Nandu are penning the dialogues. Mounted as a grand-scale commercial entertainer packed with action, emotion, and mass appeal, #ChiruBobby2 / #Chiru158 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Telugu films currently in production. Rashmika's Mysaa underwater sequence becomes Talk of Industry
Rashmika Mandanna is pushing herself physically for her upcoming pan-India action thriller Mysaa. The actress is currently filming a demanding underwater action sequence, and her commitment to performing the stunt herself has become a major talking point within the industry. According to the makers, Rashmika spent nearly 20 hours underwater over two days to complete the high-intensity sequence. Instead of opting for an action double, she reportedly performed the entire fight on her own after undergoing extensive preparation for the challenging shoot. Filming action scenes underwater is considered one of the most technically demanding aspects of filmmaking, requiring precise coordination, breath control and stamina. The production team says Rashmika's dedication throughout the schedule impressed not only the film's crew but also the specialised underwater technicians and the cinematography team, who witnessed the sequence firsthand. Mysaa is directed by Rawindra Pulle and produced by Ajay and Anil Sayyapureddy as a pan-India action entertainer. While the makers have been highlighting the film's large-scale action set pieces, this underwater sequence is expected to be one of its major attractions. With Mysaa, Rashmika appears to be exploring a more action-oriented role than ever before. If the effort behind the sequence translates effectively on screen, the film could showcase a new side of the actress and add another ambitious female-led action film to Indian cinema. Fresh off the success of Shambhala, Aadi Sai Kumar has moved on to his next project, Sairabanu. The makers have announced the completion of the film's first shooting schedule by releasing a behind-the-scenes video that offers a glimpse into the making of the romantic entertainer. The BTS video showcases the camaraderie on the sets while teasing the film's light-hearted tone. Aadi Sai Kumar, Bandhavi Sridhar and comedian Vennela Kishore are seen filming several comic moments, indicating that humour will be a key element of the narrative. Directed by Phani Krishna Siriki, Sairabanu is built around an unconventional love story between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. With the tagline, "A Fun Filled Journey of Love, Faith & Destiny," the film appears to combine romance, comedy and emotions against the backdrops of Hyderabad and Rajahmundry. The team recently completed a 15-day schedule on a specially constructed software office set in Hyderabad, where a major portion of the film featuring the lead cast was shot. Production is expected to continue with the second schedule shortly. Dune 3 Trailer Promises Denis Villeneuve's Most Emotional Chapter Yet
The first trailer for Dune 3 has finally arrived, and it is clear that director Denis Villeneuve isn't trying to outdo the scale of the previous films with bigger explosions or larger battle sequences. Instead, the footage suggests that the filmmaker is focusing on the emotional and psychological consequences of everything Paul Atreides has become. While the trailer still features breathtaking visuals, massive sandworms, and the grandeur fans expect from the franchise, its biggest strength lies in the interpersonal conflicts. Every frame hints at fractured relationships, moral dilemmas, and the burden of leadership rather than simply showcasing another epic war for Arrakis. Denis appears to be treating the film as a character study first and a spectacle second. Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides looks increasingly consumed by power and prophecy, while the supporting characters seem to challenge, question, or fear the path he has chosen. The tension between ideology, love, faith, and destiny takes center stage, making the emotional stakes feel even higher than the physical ones. Visually, Dune 3 continues the franchise's signature aesthetic with stunning cinematography, haunting sound design, and meticulously crafted production values. But unlike conventional blockbuster trailers that rely heavily on action montages, this one builds intrigue through expressions, silence, and conversations that hint at irreversible choices. If the trailer is anything to go by, Denis Villeneuve is aiming to conclude the saga with a deeply human story wrapped inside a visually magnificent sci-fi epic. Rather than delivering spectacle for spectacle's sake, Dune 3 looks poised to explore the cost of power, making it one of the most anticipated cinematic events on the horizon. Veteran actor Rajesh Sharma has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after suffering a serious health scare while shooting for an upcoming Prabhas-starrer at Ramoji Film City. The actor reportedly developed a severe infection, high fever and breathing difficulties following what is believed to be an insect or poisonous spider bite on the film's sets. According to a statement issued by actress Sudipa Chatterjee and filmmaker Agnidev Chatterjee, the incident took place after the day's shoot had wrapped up. Rajesh Sharma was interacting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he felt something bite his leg. Lenin makers to reduce overseas reviews effect on film
Producers Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna appears to have adopted a unique release strategy for Akhil Akkineni, Bhagyashri Borse starrer Lenin, one that could significantly reduce the impact of early overseas reviews on the film's opening day in India. Ahead of the film's July 10 release, the producer announced that shows across India will begin at 5:00 AM, while overseas premieres are scheduled for 4:30 AM IST on the same day. Traditionally, Telugu films premiere several hours earlier in the United States, with social media reviews, ratings and audience reactions flooding the internet well before the first shows begin in the Telugu states. Those initial responses often shape the online narrative around a film, influencing undecided audiences and even impacting advance bookings for later shows. With just a 30-minute gap between the overseas premieres and the first Indian screenings, that window has been almost eliminated. Even if the first reactions begin appearing online, they are unlikely to spread widely enough before audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have already entered theatres. It is a strategy that ensures the first wave of viewers in India experience the film without being heavily influenced by overseas verdicts. The move also reflects how the Telugu film industry is adapting to the social media era. Instant reviews on X, YouTube and other platforms have become increasingly influential, with both positive and negative word-of-mouth spreading within minutes. By synchronizing the release timings, the makers appear to be giving LENIN a more level playing field, allowing the domestic audience to form its own opinion rather than relying on early overseas chatter. Whether this was the primary intention behind the scheduling has not been officially confirmed by the makers. However, the timing has certainly caught the attention of trade observers and fans alike. If the strategy proves effective, it could inspire more Telugu producers to minimize the gap between overseas premieres and Indian first shows, especially for big-ticket releases where first impressions on social media can have an outsized impact on opening-day momentum.
