Superstar Rajinikanth has once again rewritten Tamil cinema's box-office history. Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has emerged as the new Industry Hit, surpassing the existing records and becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. The sequel has crossed the Rs.800 crore worldwide gross mark in just 19 days, setting an unprecedented benchmark for Kollywood.

Renowned producer and trade analyst G Dhananjheyan took to social media to celebrate the achievement, stating, "Every box office record has been broken and we should all celebrate the Team #Jailer2 for giving us the New Industry Hit." He further expressed confidence that the film would cross Rs.900 crore worldwide, appreciating the team for delivering such a remarkable achievement for Tamil cinema.

According to trade estimates, Jailer 2 has collected approximately Rs.812 crore worldwide by the end of its 19th day, with its India gross standing at Rs.537.75 crore and overseas collections contributing Rs.274.25 crore. The film has also surpassed Rajinikanth's own 2.0 to claim the all-time Tamil cinema box-office record. It has emerged as the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026, behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu, the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music.
