ARM visual experience is wonderful says hero Tovino Thomas

Star actor Tovino Thomas is gearing up to entertain audiences with the highly anticipated pan-India fantasy project "ARM." Co-starring Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Surabhi Lakshmi, this film marks Tovino Thomas' 50th milestone movie. Directed by debutant Jithin Lal and produced by Listyn Stephen under the banners Magic Frames, UGM Motion Pictures, and Dr. Zakaria Thomas, the film’s promotional content has already received a tremendous response. "ARM" is set to release on September 12, and will be distributed in Telugu by Mythri Movie Makers. On this occasion, Tovino Thomas shared details about the film in a press conference.

This is your 50th milestone movie. How did this project come about?

"I started my career in small roles, including supporting, comedic, and villainous parts. I have been playing lead roles since 2016. Acting has always been my dream, and I’m still living that dream. When I began working on 'ARM,' I didn’t initially realize it would be my 50th film. 'ARM' presented an exciting script, and playing three distinct characters was a significant challenge. The director had faith in me, and we conducted workshops to prepare. Each of these roles is unique."

You trained in Kalari Fight for six months. How was that experience?

"Learning Kalari Fight in six months is quite an achievement. I focused on mastering the basics and gained a solid understanding of the art."

What made you trust a debutant director with such a large-scale film?

"I’ve been on a journey with Jithin Lal for eight years. The script he presented was fantastic. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with new directors in about 80 percent of my films, which is made possible by mutual trust."

What challenges did 'ARM' present?

"You’ll see the challenges when you watch the movie. It includes numerous fight sequences and character switches, and makeup took considerable time. We filmed in many locations, and I prepared extensively for my roles by writing notes, which were very helpful. The film features a non-linear screenplay, but the director has made the different time periods clear to the audience."

What can you tell us about Krithi Shetty's character?

"The trailer shows three different love stories. Kriti Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Surabhi Lakshmi have performed brilliantly in these roles."

How does the 3D format enhance the film?

"We’ve created an imaginary, fictional world for this movie, and 3D helps immerse viewers in the story. We’re also releasing the film in English and Spanish, with subtitles in nearly 50 languages, making it a universally connected movie."

What does the title 'ARM' signify?

"'ARM' stands for 'Ajante Randam Moshanam,' which translates to 'Ajayan's Second Theft.' Since this title can be challenging to pronounce in other languages, we use 'ARM' for simplicity."

What can you tell us about the film’s music?

"Dhibu Ninan has composed popular music for the film. The soundtrack is excellent, and the background score is brilliant."

How do you feel about Mythri Movie Makers releasing the film in Telugu?

"I have previously worked with Mythri Movie Makers on 'Nadigar,' and it has been a pleasure to collaborate with them again for this release."

What kind of stories do you prefer to choose?

"I strive to select stories and characters that are unique and fresh in every film. There’s always something new to explore, and I learn from each project."

Do you think there will be a sequel to 'Minnal Murali'?

"Director Basil Joseph is currently very busy as an actor. If a sequel is made, it should surpass the original story of 'Minnal Murali.'"

Do you watch Telugu movies or listen to Telugu stories?

"I do watch Telugu movies. The first Telugu film I saw was Chiranjeevi's 'Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari.' I also participate in Telugu script discussions."

All the best!

"Thank you."
