AR Murugadoss in plans to bring Ghajini 2?

on Oct 17, 2024

Director AR Murugadoss made a Pan-India successful film way back in 2005-2008 before Baahubali took it to next level. Well, it is kinda Pan-India success as before Baahubali remaking one blockbuster film in another language is more in fashion and if it is done by same director, we can say that was Pan-India back in those days.

Jokes apart, Ghajini film directed by AR Murugadoss created a huge market for Suriya in Tamil and Telugu states, as well. The movie even prompted many Telugu heroes to work with the director and he did make Stalin, with Megastar Chiranjeevi, too. And Telugu producer Allu Aravind took initiative in taking Ghajini to Bollywood.

Aamir Khan created a huge box office sensation with the film, opening Rs.100 crores club for Indian Cinema. Now, the director is thinking about revisiting Ghajini for a sequel, it seems. According to the Tamil media reports, he has plans to make this movie on a massive budget and explore the character even deeper.

The new movie might go on floors once Suriya finishes his recent commitments and AR Murugadoss, too. The director scored disasters with Mahesh Babu's Spyder and Rajinikanth's Darbar. He is looking for a big comeback with Sivakarthikeyan in South Indian languages and with Salman Khan in Bollywood. So, once he finishes these projects, he wants to move ahead with Ghajini sequel, it seems.

It would be great to see him take on Ghajini character post two decades but will he introduce a new problem to the old character or just take the character and give an entire new story. Let's wait and see.
