Shah Rukh Khan's King unveiled its first single, Tu Mil Jaaye, on his 61st birthday, bringing together Arijit Singh and global pop sensation Ed Sheeran. While the unusual musical collaboration has generated excitement, the song is receiving a mixed response, with its visuals becoming a major talking point on social media.

Featuring SRK and Deepika Padukone, the romantic track has attracted attention for its international musical combination. However, viewers have questioned the visual treatment, describing several portions as excessively airbrushed and artificial.

Interestingly, despite being shot at real locations, the final output gives the impression of green-screen backgrounds, with the colour grading and overall finishing failing to create the intended visual appeal. Siddharth Anand is facing criticism for repeating familiar visual templates, with some viewers drawing comparisons to the glossy presentation of Pathaan.

The criticism is not merely about the song but also about the technical standards expected from a filmmaker mounting a project on the scale of King. Audiences are increasingly looking for visual freshness rather than familiar compositions and stylised presentations. The Arijit Singh-Ed Sheeran combination remains the song's biggest attraction, but the response suggests that star power and international collaborations alone cannot guarantee an impressive outcome.

With enormous expectations surrounding King, the makers will be hoping their upcoming promotional material generates a stronger response. Sachin-Jigar have composed the song and Suhana Khan is working with her father in this Red Chillies Entertainment production.
