Changing Lives... Forever

1)“Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change.”- William Arthur Ward This holds true in the case of Vimla Kaul, an 80 yr old teacher from Delhi.

2) Staying home doing nothing was never an option for Vimla post her retirement, she started changing the lives of underprivileged children of Madanpur Khadar in Delhi, for better.

3)A visit to the village around 1995 motivated Vimla and her husband to do their bit for the betterment of people living there. there was no looking back as she went from strength to strength, starting from 5 students it grew to 110 students.

4)Faced many hurdles to initially get a place to teach kids As she could not afford to build a school she moved from one park to another teaching the kids in the open lawns.she finally moved to MGD park where we taught for 15 years.

5)Thanks to Malviya Trust’s support, Vimla now has a school building with four rooms where she teaches students up to Class2, Vimla, now gets financila help from friends and family in the form of donations.

6)After all her struggle Vimla proudly confides that, “These children are very talented. They just need support and guidance. If they are given the same opportunities and facilities like mainstream kids, they too can do wonders, Kudos to her Spirited thought
