Makeup Tips to Brighten Eyes

You can't turn back the hands of time but you can trick a little with these 5 makeup tricks to brighten your eyes. Give those eyes a heavenly glow and brighten them up for day wear or a special evening out.

* Instead of wearing complicated, multi-color eye looks that make eyes look squinty, wear a clean shade of vanilla or even bronze. A light, shimmery color makes the eyes pop! Don't cover the entire lid, you don't want the lids to look like frosted lenses. Instead, sweep the light color on the lower 2/3 of the lid. Brilliant and bright!

* After you apply your eyeshadow, dab a frosted pink, light blue or turquoise in the inner corners of the eyelid. Do this at the top and bottom to brighten your eyes.

* Apply the white liner to the lower eye rim to make the eye look brighter, larger. Don't believe me? Try lining just one eye and see what happens. The difference will astound you!

* Wear your favorite eyeshadows but ring the eyes with a shimmery eyeliner. For the best, brightest results, don't wear boring, dull neutral colors. Go bold and colorful! Once you've completed the eyeshadow application, ring the eyes with a shimmering eye liner from the outside of the eye, to the inside. Do this for the top and bottom then use a sponge tip applicator to keep it smooth looking.

* Sometimes eyeshadow collects on the outside of the eye, especially if you've used an eyeshadow brush to apply the product. Touching up these areas with a highlighting pen removes the stray shadow and makes brightens the eye. Do the same for the inside of your eye under the lashes.
