Holi Beauty Care

Ladies and Gentleman , and we are addressing both the genders as we felt that we should share the skin and hair care tips that will help you take care of your body and have fun on Holi !

With most of us going for the Organic colours the question about using chemical laced colours and the damage that do may not arise …but for those who still insist on using these cheaply available colours as the Organic ones tend to be on the expensive side we present these tips for protecting your hair and skin:

Hair:

Use a scarf or bandana cap to cover your hair. Don’t leave your hair loose and put a pony for protecting long hair.

Use coconut or olive oil and massage your hair from tip to scalp. An oil massage will act as a shield against harmful chemicals and dust apart from protecting your hair it will also help you get rid of the colour from your hair easily.

Eyes:

Avoid wearing contact lenses when you are playing with colours it  can cause infections .Stick to wearing your glasses and wear some fancy glasses to go with the glam look.

Nails:

Paint your nails bright as this will help you keep your nails and the cuticles safe from the harsh colours .

Lips:

For protecting your lips while playing Holi, use a lipbalm or a lipstick so that it keeps the lips protected and moisturised at the same time.

Skin:

Make a mixture of 1 tablespoon each of coconut oil and olive oil .Apply this all over your skin especially behind the ears before playing Holi.

You could also moisturize your face with sunscreen for added protection. And avoid heavy makeup.

Quick tips:

Keep a soothing lotion like calamine or aloe Vera gel in handy in case you break into a rash and avoid further irritation.

Clean your eyes with water in case you have colour splashed and relax.

Wash with water first and than apply the lotion.

Avoid bleaching, shaving, waxing, facials of any types of clean-ups for a week after Holi as it will just harm your skin.
