TAJA & TANA - Swara Tharangini - Hudhud Cyclone relief FundraiserTelugu Association of Jacksonville Area (TAJA) and Telugu Association of North America (TANA) unitedly organized a Musical Concert “Swara Tharangini” to raise funds for the Hudhud Cyclone relief Fund on Sunday November 9th in Bolles Middle School Jacksonville Florida.
More than 600 people attended the event and the event started with Ganesha prayer by Hindu temple priest Pandit Srinathji followed by a welcoming Bharatha Natyam dance performed by local kids and followed by Inaugural speech by TAJA president Vamsee Srikakolapu welcoming the audience. Vamsee on behalf of TAJA sympathized with the devastation caused by Hudhud and applauded the Jacksonville Telugu community for supporting this event and appreciated TANA in forthcoming to organize this event for a noble cause in Jacksonville.
TANA Representatives Srini Patcha and Suresh Mittapalli addressed the event thanking TANA president Mohan Nannapaneni and TANA leadership for providing opportunities in conducting various programs in Jacksonville for past few years and thanked the donors for supporting the event.
The event was followed by a four hour long entertaining concert by Singers Krishna Chaitanya (KC), Vijaya Lakshmi, Rahul Siplikunj and Sudhamayee. MAA TV Anchor Mrudula anchored the event. All the audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances by dancing along with the singers.
TANA Joint Treasurer Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu and TANA Foundation secretary Srinivas Jarugula attended the event from TANA leadership and addressed the audience. Both the leaders detailed about achievements and services of TANA including TEAM Square and TANA Foundation for the past 37 years since its inception. On Behalf of TANA, they thanked and appreciated TAJA committee for joining hands with TANA in organizing the event and expressed confidence in doing many more events in future.
Event organizers announced that around $11,000 usd raised from event ticket sales and 100% of these funds raised will be sent to Hudhud relief fund through TAJA & TANA and thanked all the donors, volunteers and members for generously making contributions and making the event grand success.
