Super-Immunity for Kids-1

A child with no sick leaves from school is every parent's dream! One another point of concern is protecting a child from serious diseases.....does any food have solutions to these issues?!

Childhood- when the immune system is still developing, it is a great oppurtunity to set the stage for improved health and resistance to diseases going forward. A healthy diet and lifestyle can help kids avoid common childhood illnesses like colds, ear infections and allergies, as well as ensure greater resilience against disease later in life.

Focus on high quality foods and emphasis on whole grains and healthy fats such as those found in nuts, seeds, fruits like avocados, veggies like tomatoes, dark leafy greens, carrots and cruciferous vegetables like brocolli and cauliflower for their collective nutrients and phytochemicals that enhance immune cell function and protection against disease is extremely important when planning for an immune-boosting diet for children or anyone.

A Health Journal study reveals that "Kids that ate the most fruit had a 38 percent lower risk of cancer later in life." Berries, cherries, plums and pomegranates are among the most powerful immune-boosting fruits.

One important step- Stopping children or anyone from consuming sugar filled foods. As the calories that are gathered from eating sugary foods depress the infection-fighting ability of the white blood cells in a body. Even natural sweeteners like Honey and fruit juice have similar affect on the body when consumed in excess. Instead try healthy options like homemade pomegranate and kiwi fruit salad, trail mix with almonds, prunes and air-dropped pop corn with dried cranberries with a few raisins to sweeten, hummus to dip freshly peeled baby carrots and red capsicum strips.
