A Kuchipudi Dance Presentation of Bhakta PrahladaOn Jul 18, A Kuchipudi Dance Presentation of Bhakta Prahlada was enacted with many Andhra youngsters, all first generation NRI Children! They all demonstrated without any loss of Andhra Culture, the Kuchipudi traditional performance with a 2.5 hours scintillating performance. It was captivating to say the least. This program, held at Bharatiya Cultural Center Hall in Montgomeryville was A Kuchipudi Dance Presentation of Bhakta Prahladasponsored by TANA (Telugu Association of North America) and supported by TAGDV and SEWAA. With a brief introduction of the artistes by Damu Gedala, who is India Activities Coordinator of TANA, followed with the lighting of the sacred lamps by Smt. Manju Bhargavi, and Bhakta Prahlada Program began. During the intermission, plaques presentation to artistes was done. Manju Bhargavi said, “I am very happy to watch Indian American kids growing up in the US , absorbing Indian culture and showing enthusiasm in learning the Hindu mythology and perfecting the art form be it dance or music. A Kuchipudi Dance Presentation of Bhakta PrahladaMuch kudos should go to organizations like TANA for arranging / promoting traditional Kuchipudi ballet and dances. I am glad to be a part of the show tonight, witnessing so many wonderful kids exhibiting young talent. We should really be thankful to Saroja Sagaram garu (TANA East Regional Vice President, and Vasudeva Reddy, Regional Coordinator of North East of TANA,and Damu Geddala garu (India activities TANA coordinator) for keeping the momemtum in Indian art and culture so vibrant by giving an opportunity to the talent coming from India yet at the same time involving young local talent.”

The program was graced with presence of Manju Bhargavee, who was presented a TANA Plaque for long contributions to Andhra Traditions by Akkaraju Sarma, then followed by a plaque presentation to Smt.Kothapalli Padma, directed the Prahlada Program, by Aravabhumi Srinivasa Reddy. Then all the children that participated were given TANA trophies and adults in the troupe were likewise recognized. And also TANA recognized all teachers from New jersey, Smt. Indira Dixit, Smt. Swathi Gundapuneedhi, and Srilakshmi Parcha with plaque who trained well to our children.All had a wonderful evening and reminded once again the importance of Kuchipudi Dance Style and the role that Dr.Vempati Chinna Satyam impact in our culture. TANA and organizers thank Bharatiya Cultural Center for providing facilities, Saroja Sagaram from TAGDV President and Damu Gedala, representing TANA, gave a vote of thanks to all.
