Many think that the full fat food blocks the arteries and would result in gaining the weight. According to the latest nutrition research from the National Obesity Forum, UK, it could be said that low fat diets result in disastrous health problems.

Dr. Trudi Deakin, a leading dietitian said that, the flawed from the 1950s convinced people that fat is bad for us, but it was never proven that saturated fat caused heart disease and the problem with low fat food is that when the manufacturers of the food strip out fat, they replace it with sugar as well as starch. Replacement of fat with sugar as well as starch results in increasing the insulin which damages the appetite and makes it difficult to digest the nutrients. He also added that the natural fat that is found in dairy products is extremely nourishing and eating it can actually prevents weight gain and cuts the risk of heart diseases because dietary fat helps in improvising the functions of the brain.

Many choose low fat readymade packaged food over normal fat food because they think that it is a healthy choice and it wouldn’t increase the weight. Whereas Dr Supreet Grover who is a clinical nutritionist and a weight loss consultant explains that, all are ready to eat food that is labeled as low fat and they don’t know that the food is high on sugar as well as preservatives. The calories in low fat digestives and in digestives are almost same and if one really goes through it, he/she would find number of such comparisons in various products. As the products may be high on sugar, salt are preservatives it is not going to make them all healthy. Also a food product that is low in fat as well as in sugar may not be palatable according to him.

As all sorts of fats are harmful for the human body, we have been asked to cut it down since ages. The fact is that all the fats are not bad and they in fact provide energy, helps in soaking the vitamins A, D, E and K into our body. Since our body cannot produce certain essential fatty acids, the acids would be taken from the natural fat that has been consumed in the form of food.

Fitness nutritionist as well as the proprietor of Q Slim Fitness studio, Pallavi Srivasta says that the news research indicates that saturated fats coming from the diet might not increase the cholesterol in the body directly but the process foods might result in health problems. Proportionate consumption of high food fats helps in reducing the weight for obese people.

Consultant Nutritionist, Pooja Makhija states that many people equate food fat for body fat. For the body to function optimally, fat is necessary. Elimination of normal fat food from the diet results in severe health issues. Invisible fat and visible fat are two kinds of fats. Invisible fat that is present in the food naturally should be embraced and the visible fat that is added to the food to make it taste better should be avoided. According to Pooja, Invisible fat contains many other nutrients like vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants which are highly beneficial for the health.

While picking the food, the natural form of it is better than the processed one. Therefore it could be concluded that, the lesser the food is processed the lesser it is harmful for the human bodies.
