LensOnNews.com, a newly launched wed site predicted a spectacular win for the AIADMK alliance. However, the website said that no single party would get a majority in the Tamil Nadu elections.

In fact, LensOnNews.com guesstimated that the Jayalalitha - led AIADMK alliance would comfortably win more than half of the 234 Assembly seats while the ruling DMK would trail and end up with 88 seats. Further, its been predicted that the AIADMK, which is contesting in about 160 seats,is tipped to win only 100 seats – way short of the majority mark of 188. And all this mean it is highly unlikely that a single party getting majority to form the government.

The LensOnNews poll was conducted in March 1st week among a representative, cross - sectional sample of around 3,000 voters in 12 constituencies. And the wide gap in the estimated seats of the rival DMK-AIADMK alliances is not reflected in their vote shares.

The AIADMK alliance is billed to bag 47% of the votes as against 46% of the DMK alliance but AIADMK combine holds the edge with slender lead in the seats. The AIADMK alliance has a favorable distribution of votes because of its increased vote share. Its alliance with Vijayakanth's DMDK party is helping to gain a large number of additional seats.
