Odarpu Yatra to Commence today

Former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch his Odarpu Yatra in the district, carrying his party flag for the first time from Monday. This will also be the first time that Mr Jagan will be campaigning for his YSR Congress and with the agenda of welfare schemes, which he claims, was not fulfilled by government after the death of his father and former chief minister Mr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. Mr Jagan will be mostly depending on former minister Mr P. Sambasiva Raju, who was denied a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Party sources said that the Congress government had placed the responsibility on the transport minister, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, to control party workers from attending the Odarpu. Sources also said that it was Mr Satyanarayana who was instrumental in sidelining Mr Sambasiva Raju and denying him the party ticket. Mr Jagan launched his Odarpu in Srikakulam all alone as no MLA or MP attended the rallies. It was minister Konatala Ramakrisshna, Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari and Paykaraopeta MLA G. Babu Rao who participated in the Odarpu. Sources added that those opposing Mr Satyanarayana and denied party nomination in the last two elections would be rallying round Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
