Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation suspended the contractors for laying poor quality road of 800km amounting to Rs 320 Crore that got damaged because of the heavy rains that wrecked the city recently and asked them to repair them at their own cost.

B Janardhan Reddy, the commissioner of GHMC said that, Greater would not spend funds on these roads, adding that, work should not be done on the 800km road that had been re-carpeted recently and in case of severe damage it must be inspected by the road engineering experts of JNTU and the quality control team.
