Andhra Pradesh Textiles minister P Shankar Rao, who has been hogging the limelight for shooting off letters to the courts against his own colleagues for mis-using official powers, is facing similar charges himself now.
The AP Lokayukta has taken up a suo moto case against Shankar Rao for allegedly pressurising the government as well as the concerned higher ups to transfer a Tahasildar. It is said that the minister was angree with a Tahasildar working at Tirumalagiri in Secunderabad for not being obedient to him.
It was reported in the media that Shankar Rao is bringing pressure on the concerned Collector and the government to transfer that Tahasildar to some other place. The Lokayukta took cognisance of the media reports that the minister is interfering with the general administration by the officials and felt that Shankar Rao resorted to misuse of his powers. Accordingly, the Lokayukta registered a suo moto case and started an inquiry.
