International Dogs Day

Dogs are Mans’ faithful pets. And it is true. 26th August of every year is celebrated as International dogs day, to encourage people to adopt dogs.

This day is also celebrated as a tribute to these wonderful animals who cofort us, save our lives and keep us safe. They protect our safety and freedom by detecting drugs and bombs, and also pull victims from wreckages and tragic situations. Dogs are also family friends and we keep them in their homes and hold special places in our lives.

International Dog Day was first introduced in 2004 by Colleen Paige, a Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert, Animal Rescue Advocate, Dog Trainer, Conservationist, and Author. August 26 was chosen as International Dog Day as on this day Paige’s family adopted their first dog ‘Sheltie’, when it was just 10 years old.
