The Mumbai Police busted an alleged rave party at a hotel in Juhu on Sunday night. At least 100 people including 38 women, mostly foreign nationals, were detained. The police have also arrested the party organiser, Vishesh Vijay Handa, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Two international cricketers, Rahul Sharma of India and Wayne Parnell of South Africa, who play in the IPL for Pune Warriors India were also detained and questioned.

However, it was not yet confirmed whether the players were involved in consuming drugs at the party. The police said a clear picture would emerge only after the results of the medical examination.

The police suspect drugs were consumed at the party and claim to have recovered cocaine from the party premises. The police claimed that approximately 110 gm of cocaine was found. "Only after the blood and urine test results come, will we know who all are responsible," the police said.

All the detainees including the cricketers were taken to the Juhu police station and made to undergo medical tests, the results of which are awaited. The cricketers were released on bonds. Others will be released soon as well.

Some of the guests at the party claimed there was nothing wrong or illegal there. "We were there since 7 o' clock. They took us to the hospital. There is nothing which is organised. A lot of times the cops come to take the DJs away. I was actually standing out watching the match, I saw the cops inside, I came inside to see what was wrong, I thought they had come to pick the DJs. I told my friend let's leave, and they just blocked the doors and didn't allow us to leave. So many sundown parties happen here. It's not something that is wrong," a guest said.
