Indicating that "Anything may happen in politics", Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) MLA from Nellore City Sridhar Krishna Reddy on Thursday sent shockwaves by saying that PRP may reverse the decision of its merger with the Congress party if the latter fails to accommodate Chiranjeevi on a suitable position. Speaking to the media, Krishna Reddy said that the Congress party should recognise the role of Chiranjeevi and the PRP MLAs in saving the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government during the No Confidence Motion. Therefore, in recognition of their services the Congress party should give a suitable position to Chiranjeevi in the party and government. He demanded that the Congress party accommodate Chiranjeevi on a suitable position at the earliest. Reacting sharply on YSR Congress party's Ambati Rambabu criticizing Chiranjeevi, Krishna Reddy said that Ambati has no moral right to criticize the PRP chief. Ambati Rambabu is bound to go jail, as he was the chairman of APIIC when EMAAR scam took place.
It is to be noted that, Krishna Reddy chose to speak out at a time when Chiranjeevi, for the first time after the merger, got a firm assurance yesterday from Congress high command that he would be sent to Rajya Sabha in March/April 2012, in a bid to accommodate him in the Central Cabinet. Krishna Reddy's statement certainly gives an impression that Chiranjeevi is not so happy with the high command's decision.
