Telugu Desam Party alleged that the TRS is trying to gain political mileage out of prof Jayashankar's death. It is playing 'Dead-body politics' as part of a larger conspiracy to wipe out the TDP from Telangana Region.
TDP senior leader from Telangana region, Kadiam Srihari told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan that the TRS has stooped to its lowest levels yet by trying to derive political mileage from the body of Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar. Mr Srihari was speaking after releasing a poster 'Jai Telangana, Jai TDP, Jai Chandrababu Naidu.' He said that, "The TRS is playing games on the body of Prof Jayashankar in order to get political mileage. The TTDP Forum members were unable to even have a glimpse of Prof Jayashankar's body as the TRS wants to get mileage on his death."
Mr Srihari further expressed serious objections of the TRS trying to project Prof Jayashankar as belonging to one particular group in Telangana. "Prof Jayashankar belonged to all sections of Telangana people and we have to fulfil his aspirations," he said. He alleged the Congress and TRS have cheated the Telangana people in the name of separate statehood and were targeting the TDP unnecessarily. Mr Srihari said that the poster released by him would create awareness among the people of the region about the development which took place in Telangana during TDP rule and party's stand on contentious issue.
