Sangma Quits NCP to be NDA Presidential Candidate

Senior parliamentarian and prominent leader from North East, P A Sangma has quit the NCP to contest presidential elections. In all probabilities he is to be announced NDA presidential candidate by this evening.
Janata Party chief Dr. Subramanian Swamy announced this in press meet in the afternoon on Wednesday. Dr. Swamy, holding a letter purported to be the resignation letter of P A Sangma, said that the NCP leader has decided to quit the party and contest for the president's post. The NDA is scheduled to meet at L K Adwani's residence at 6 PM today and it is very likely that Sangma will be declared official candidate of NDA for the president's post. "The NCP and the Congress party tried to humiliate Sangma. He resigned on the ground that his self respect has to be protected," said Dr. Swamy.
