MLA Somarapu Satyanarayana Under House Arrest

As a precautionary measure, the government has put the Ramgundam MLA Somarapu Satyanarayana under house arrest. The Independent MLA, Somarapu, who has shifted his loyalties to TRS recently, was taken into custody with the fear that he may disrupt the 'Rachchabanda' program scheduled to be held at Godawari Khani today (18-11-11) in which minister Sreedhar Babu and the District Collector are participating. MLA Satyanarayana was arrested at about 7 in the morning, even as he was protesting that he had no intention of disrupting the rachchabanda program, as it has nothing to do with the contentious separate Telangana issue. Though the MLA didn't receive any invitation to attend the program, he said that he intends to take the problems faced by the local public to the government's notice and for that he wants to attend the program. But the police didn't heed to his pleas and was not allowed to step out from his house.
