Megastar turned politician and Praja Rajyam Party chief K Chiranjeevi, who enjoyed a mammoth fan fallowing hitherto, is going to become a fan of Congress himself. Consequent to PRP's merger with Congress Party in February this year, Chiranjeevi will formally become a Congress member on 20 August in presence of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. This has certainly upset his lakhs of fans all over the state.
There are over seventy lakh people who voted for Chiranjeevi and his social justice slogan in 2009 elections. "We have always loved Chiranjeevi and were happy that he started a party after his film career and we voted for him. But now he has joined the Congress while we wanted him to lead a separate party," lament heart-broken fans. Even though both the megastar and the Congress are keen to project the merger as a win-win situation, it will not be that easy for the partymen as well as his fans to digest.
