The tussle between former central minister Dasari Narayana Rao and cine actor turned politician Chiranjeevi has come to fore once again. Though Dasari tried hard to retain his Rajya Sabha seat for the second time, party high command preferred to send Chiranjeevi to RS in his place. Moreover, Chiranjeevi is likely to be accommodated in the central cabinet as well. All this has caused heart-burn to the former minister, who considers himself to be more deserving than the newcomer in to the party, Chiranjeevi.

A cold war was going on between Dasari and Chiranjeevi since long, as both of them belong to the same community and hail from Palakollu in West Godawari district. First Chiranjeevi cut in to Dasari's community vote bank by floating Praja Rajyam Party. Then he merged it with Congress, which has again resulted in reducing Dasari's prominence in the party. Naturally, the miffed Dasari is now contemplating to retaliate and show his might to the party. For this, he is planning to revive his long-defunct Udayam newspaper and also to make a satirical film on the Congress culture, inform the sources. However, Dasari's detractors say that it is quite common for him to resort to 'blackmail' politics, whenever he is ignored by the party.
