Communal Reservation Divides The Country

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party Leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said his party would totally oppose communal reservation as it would divide the country. Mr Naidu made these remarks when a journalist at a press conference. His comments on YSR Congress President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's statement, that his party would think about having truck with the BJP if it provided 10 per cent reservation for Muslims across the country. ''When the BJP-led NDA comes to power at the Centre, it would impose restrictions on the funds flow from other countries for religious conversions'', the BJP leader said adding it would also not compromise on the fundamental doctrine. Ruling out his party's 'soft approach' to terrorism, Mr Naidu said irrespective of case, creed and religion, India is one nation and that is the philosophy of BJP. Mr Naidu said as his party was not strong enough in the region, it was not contesting in the Kadapa Paraliamentary and Pulivendula Assembly by-election to be held on May 8
