Chandrababu Support to Textile Traders Protest Against VAT

Former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party supremo, Chandrabu Naidu today announced his support to the textile traders in the state, who are protesting against VAT imposed on textiles. Traders have been appealing to the Government to withdraw VAT since no other State in the country have levied VAT on textiles. Video Source: tv9
Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday visited the protesting traders at Indira Park in Hyderabad and assured them of his party's support. Addressing the traders, he said that their demand for repeal of VAT on textiles is a justified one, as no other state is imposing such tax. He said, though in the past Odisha, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Tamilnadu governments have imposed VAT on textiles, but lkater withdrew it in view of the hardships the traders faced. He criticized the Congress government for its inability and callousness towards the wooes of the weavers and the traders.
