Andhra Pradesh Minister for Handlooms & Textiles P. Shankar Rao repeatedly slapped his personal assistant to the dismay of everyone present there. The reason for the minister's ire was that his PA failed to attend to the minister's mobile phone when it rang during a meeting.
The minister P Shankar Rao was in Bobbili town of Srikakulam district on an official tour. The incident took place while Shankar rao was speaking to the officials about the Industrial Growth Center in the town. He was upset when his mobile rang and his support staff was not available to attend to it. Though his PA Venkatesh came running to receive the phone, he received minister's blows on the face instead.
