AP Speaker to Disqualify 17 MLAs on 9 February

AP Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar in all probabilities may disqualify 17 MLAs on 9 February. Among the 17 to be disqualified for defying the whip during the voting on no-confidence motion, 16 are from the congress and one MLA Ms Sobha Nagireddy is from the former Praja Rajyam.
The Speaker has already completed formalities pertaining to the recording of statements of the Whips of the congress and PRP. Two MLAs Shobha Nagi reddy representing Allagadda and Kapu Ramachandra Reddy from Rayadurgam constituencies were not present while statements were recorded yesterday. As the MLAs didn’t turn up, the Speaker has no alternative except for going by the versions of the party whips in these two cases. According to Congress party sources, the Speaker will deliver his judgment on Feb 9.
