TRS ready for legal battle on Polavaram

TRS is gearing for yet another big fight with Narendra Modi government on Polavaram project. TRS leader Harish rao has warned the Centre not to merge the 200 villages of Kammam district, with Andhra Pradesh that will submerge under Polavaram Project by passing an ordinance in the union cabinet meeting to be held today. He demands the union government change the project design to save the 200 tribal villages in the district.

He said TRS is not averse for Polavaram but strong opposes merging Telangana villages with Andhra Pradesh for the sake of project. He warned that if Modi government goes ahead ignoring their pleas, TRS will start agitations afresh and even ready for a legal battle in the Supreme Court. He alleges that both Naidus- Chandrababu and Venkaiah are trying to push the ordinance through the cabinet meeting, thus conspiring against Telangana. He flayed Chandrababu playing double games with Telangana people, by assuring them to safeguard their interests and at the same time trying to grab their villages.

However, union minister Prakash Jawadekar responding to TRS arguments said that there will not be any problems for the project. He said, Polavaram project will be very helpful both Andhra and Telangana states.
