Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman Basvatarakam Indo American Cancer hospital, who is on a mission to raise funds for the trust has been in the UK for the past few days. Last night, he attended the fund raising event at the world renowned Manchester United Football which was organised by Dr. Sri Rajesh Maddipati & his team.
Balakrishna, in his Keynote speech, gave an account of how his mother’s suffering with cancer and his father, NTR’s dream, to have a world class hospital for cancer patients and how it had motivated him to carry Annagaru’s torch forward. He gave a detailed account of the facilities available for both paid and subsidised patients including the dormitories and the free meal scheme for the poor patients. He reiterated that in the future, he would visit more countries for the same appeal till the mission is completed. Balakrishna had finished his speech by entertaining all his fans with fantastic dialogues from a few of his hit movies.
Jonathon Minmagh, a cancer patient, had given a very emotional speech of his battle with cancer and how it had affected him and his family. Doctors Sailaja and Chandra had also shared their personal experiences with the excellent facilities offered at the Basvatharakam hospital and had given a very positive patient feedback. Cancer specialist from UK, Dr. Hanumantha Rao G., who works as an honorary consultant at the Basvatharakam hospital, shared his thoughts and praised this hospital as second to none in the world.
Playback singers, Sri Krishna and Malavika entertained the guests with hit songs from various Balakrishna movies. Aishwarya Maddipati’s drama and dance performances were a huge success and Hruditha Dhannupuneni’s dance was also well received. Dr. Lakshmi Chilukuri had ended the speech with a vote of thanks. The ‘Fight Cancer’ fund raising event had turned out to be an excellent overall experience in terms of food, entertainment and venue, all thanks to the organisation of Dr. Sri Rajesh Maddipati.
