Well! Just Imagine that you have got an entry into most famous Royal family in the world. Do you feel that it would be an exciting experience? You have to think again after reading this. The members of British Royal Family were strictly prohibited to taste some food items for the fear of inviting illness. Here are a few from the list....
Shell Fish:
Shell Fish could be a mouth watering item on the menu of every country that has a shore. But the members of royal family are not allowed to touch. It’s due to the fear that Shell Fish might get contaminated as they come from water and stored for a while before cooking. Any slight mistake in their handling and cooking could also make them poisonous. So the family is not allowed to eat any kind of shell fish such as Lobsters, prawns and crabs.
Garlic:
Queen Elizabeth is said to have particular hatred for Garlic. Garlic is prohibited from her kitchen in Buckingham Palace and no member of the family is allowed to eat the foods prepared with Garlic. This rule is followed even when the members get out from the palace on a tour. Garlic though considered as a miracle drug in our kitchen is not welcomed by the British family due to its strong odour.
Rare Meat:
Rare Meat is a tender meat that’s cooked for a long time. This is an important part in the Middle East and South Asian cuisine. However this delicious tasting food is prohibited by the Royal Family on their tour. Reason! Meat is very easily prone to contamination which could result in food poisoning. It could even result in diseases such as Salmonella which could lead to death.
Water:
Most of the diseases in the world come through the contaminated water. Safe drinking water has always been a problem to many countries. And of course the Royal Family is aware of this. It is the reason why, the members of Royal Family are allowed to drink only packaged water that usually accompanies them.
Spicy Dishes:
The cuisine in countries such as India would be heavily spiced up. But these could have devastating effect on foreigners who are accustomed to smooth and soft dishes which are less exotic. British Royal Family too has the habit of eating foods which are less spicy. They would follow the rule even during their world tours.
