Kejriwal's wife to take VRS from I-T Department

Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) has taken voluntary retirement from the Indian Revenue Service, after working for nearly 22 years in the income tax department. She was last posted as Commissioner of I-T in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in Delhi and had sought voluntary retirement (VRS) earlier this year. According to sources an official order has now been issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the cadre controlling authority of the department. As she has served over 20 years in service she will be able to enjoy her pension benefits.
The order issued by the Finance Ministry said, "Upon considering her notice for voluntary retirement from government service under FR-56 K, the President of India is pleased to allow Sunita Kejriwal IRS (IT-93072) CIT (DR) ITAT, New Delhi to retire from government service with effect from July 15, 2016." and it also added that, "Sunita Kejriwal’s attention is invited to Rule 10 of Central Civil Services (pension) rules, 1972, that if she wishes to take commercial employment within one year from the date of her retirement, she shall seek government’s prior permission.”
