We give you a few tips to taking effective care of your skin during this period.

Cleansing is very important during the rains. Use a soap free cleanser and a gentle moisturising scrub at least twice in a week to ensure that your skin is smooth and clear.

Use an alcohol free toner during the night after you've cleansed your skin. Due to the rise in humidity, your pores open up and this leads to the build up of germs and grime in your skin.

Even though it is pouring most of the time and it's cloudy, yet remember to use a sunscreen every time you step outside your house.

Use a serum or light lotion-based moisturiser that will hydrate your skin and also brighten it up. Avoid using heavy makeup during the monsoon. Instead opt for those that are waterproof.

Apart from taking care of your skin externally and cleansing, remember it is equally important to nourish your skin from within. Eat salads that are blanched in boiling water to disinfect them.

Vegetable soups are also a great option and you must also drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water every day. Know that your skin is always thirstier than you are!
