Silence Of Rajamouli Is Not Gold
on Jul 29, 2015
Speech is silver, but silence is gold. That is an outdated adage in this context, where more and more girls are venting their anguish with the way Rajamouli portrayed Tamanna in the film “Baahubali” that stormed into 400 crore club already. There is no single word about the ongoing discussions regarding the character Princess Avantika from anyone of the Baahubali team.
Earlier a journalist termed it as “Rape Of Avantika”, while a Telugu girl has yesterday lashed out at Rajamouli for always flaunting women as tool to be exploited. How could anyone disrobe a girl and prove her feminity in the name of expressing love? This is the question from many cinema lovers, especially from feminine gender, but Rajamouli and Co haven’t opened about mouth about it. While Prabhas is publicising the film among political circles like PM Narendra Modi and other ministers, he isn’t talking about the so called misogynist portrayal of Avantika character.
Will so much of fuss around, Rajamouli, Prabhas and even Tamanna has all reasons to give reason and justify what they have done or tender an apology. Otherwise who is going to give answer for the anguish being vented by our very own sisters and daughters. Many cinema people are expressing solidarity with these girls who are questioning Rajamouli, but sadly no big media houses are taking this forward for a healthy debate.
