Another shock for Smriti Irani from the Govt

 

In yet another set back for Smriti Irani, she has been dropped from the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA). Along with her other party loyalists like DV Sadananda Gowda and Rajiv Pratap Rudy are no longer part of cabinet committees. With Smriti Irani being dropped as a special invitee and her successor in the HRD Ministry Prakash Javadekar has been made a regular member on the committee on parliamentary affairs. In his earlier capacity as the minister of state for environment, he was a special invitee, like Irani.

 

Najma Heptulla, the Minority Affairs Minister who had resigned from the Union Cabinet earlier this week, is no more a member of the panel. This is the second set back for the minister after moving out of the human resource development ministry in last week's reshuffle. Gowda was a part of the committees of parliamentary affairs and economic affairs when he was the law minister. He is on none now, after being shifted to the ministry of skill development. The new parliamentary affairs minister, Ananth Kumar, who is now on four cabinet committees.
