The Bombay high court has at last delivered its order over the wastage of water for the cause of IPL. The High court has ordered that the IPL matches scheduled after April 30 should be moved out of the state. The court has made many remarks while passing the order. It has felt that the courts can not remain as mute spectators at the drought situation prevailing in the state. Though BCCI has stated that the water used to maintain the IPL pitches are not drinking water and BCCI is ready to help the state with 5 crores as drought relief.... court hasn’t felt satisfied.
The order of the bench would now affect atleast 13 IPL matches to be held from May 1st including the final match. it’s no need no mention that BCCI is not happy with the decision of the court. BCCI officials point out that several swimming pools, under construction buildings and gold courses were using lakhs of litres in the state. The cricket board feels the courts decision to be harsh as it’s not an easy to change the venues at the last minute. So what would the BCCI do now?
