Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Dwaraka-Sharda Peeth, seems to be loving controversies. In his latest remarks, Swaroopanand has blamed the people who go on honeymoon and picnics to holy places, to be the reason behind the flash floods at Kedarnath. He has warned that more of such disasters could happen if people keep visiting divine places with UNHOLY intentions. The Swamiji has uttered these remarks just a few days after his valuable statements regarding the entry of women into the Shani Shinganapur shrine.
He said that such an entry would increase the incidents of atrocities on women. Swaroopanand is well known for his hatred towards the worship of Shiridi Sai too. He has gone too far to indicate that the drought in Maharashtra is the result of Sai worship. So the politicians and officials in India need not feel responsible for the crimes and disasters happening in the country. Because, these according to honourable Swami Swaroopanand are the result of Sai worship, women’ entry into the temples and honeymooners visiting holy places.
