We are humans and therefore mortals. But our history is immortal as long as our race is in existence. In that sense A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM will be cherished as a legacy forever! The life and character of Kalam can be deduced in following `P`s
`P`overty : It's written everywhere that Kalam was born in a poor family. He distributed newspapers and collected tamarind seeds to share his part in the family. But he knew the way life works. He knew that the highway to success is to work hard... and he followed it.
`P`hysicist: 1960's were the moment when Homi Jehangir Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai dreamt of placing India in the arena of space research. Though Kalam was graduated in aeronautical engineering, he felt the potential of space research and devoted his life for it... and the rest is history. Kalam blasted his name on the pages of history with pokhran.
`P`hilosopher: Kalam was born in the devotional town of `Rameswaram`. That might have influenced him to revere sacred texts of both Hindu and Muslim. While his father Jainulabdeen taught him the value of prayers... the priest of Rameswaram temple, Pakshi Lakshmana Sastry has introduced him to scriptures. This has lead Kalam to excel both in character and in career.
`P`eoples President : When the chair of President in our nation is seen as a retiring gift to the politicians.. A few like Sarvepalli Radhakrishnayya has added a glitter of knowledge to it. Abdul Kalam was the first scientist to be in the chair. He was often recognised as the most active president, our nation has ever seen. He used the occasion to encourage as much of the youth as he can. While the politicians take the advantage of the post to host dinners and travel abroad... Kalam attended seminars and visited every major school in the country.
`P`hilanthropist : While it was almost certain for him being re-elected as the president... Kalam politely rejected the post to be a part of the mainstream society. He became a visiting professor at the IIM's of Shillong, Ahmedabad and Indore. Kalam is known for his igniting speeches spreading values of character, and zeal for success among the youth. A very few are aware of the fact that Kalam along with Soma Raju of Care foundation has developed a coronary stent. Kalam Raju Stent led to the crash of prices of imported coronary stents in Indian market by more than 50%. For this historical effort, the CARE Foundation received `The Defence Technology Spin-off Award` in 1998.
A look at the above `P`s would certainly lead us to a conclusion that Kalam is a `P`erfect human and a `P`ermanent phenomenon.
