OLD IS GOLD!
Today, I will take you to the oldest temple in India. For that, you have to travel with me, all the way to Bihar! The Mundeshwari Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Shakti, stands tall on the Mundeshwari Hills in Kaimur District of Bihar. In fact this is the oldest performing holy place in the world. The Archaeological Survey of India noted that, the temple was built in 108 AD by the Gupta Dynasty with the images of Yamuna, Dvarapalas, Ganga and many other goddesses carved on it. The temple is constructed in such a way that it exhibits a Nagara style of structural design. The interiors of the temple will greet you with niches and brave moldings projecting jug and flora diagrams. This ancient temple has been under the Administrator of the Bihar Trust Board and is being maintained with utmost care. Next time you plan to visit a temple, do give The Mundeshwari Temple a thought.
