breath - the life changing mantra-2
From my previous article I think now every one has become little conscious, aware or at least started observing breath. So I must congratulate all for getting closer to the first step.
Obviously you must have observed the way your breath changes depending on your mood, state of mind, physical comfort and so on. Now if you are happy and jubilant thats fine. And real problem is when you are in a negative mood.
The good news is if your moods control your mind and influence or bring changes in your breathing the other way round is also true. What I mean to say is if you consciously change the way you breath when you are in a negative mood, your state of mind can shift automatically into a positive and healthy state.
When you are anxious, afraid or in a tensed mood generally you can not breathe normally. Your breath will be shallow or fast. Only after the anxious moments surpass you are relieved you will have sigh of relief. But if you can shift your attention to your breath from anxiety see what kind of changes can happen. Bring that sigh of relief when you in the anxious moment. And witness how the change in your BREATHING can bring changes in thoughts and anxiety.
Imagine how wonderful your life would be if you can do this when ever needed. It's possible only if can give some time exclusively for this task of observing your breath. At Least 15 to 20 min in the beginning is good enough.
It is same old technique from our yogis retold. And now I am glad that I am going to tell you the same thing...
Right now give yourself a big soothing LUXURIOUS sigh of relief, exaggerate. And also make it more dramatic. You can call upon your friend and do it together. Keep doing it again and again. See that each sigh of relief is better than the previous one. Observe and encourage each other if YOU are doing it in a group.
Now you can feel how this breath sends a powerful message to your nervous system, it sends an unmistakable message to every cell of your body , and to your subconscious mind.
When you let the exhale go, let all your muscles go. With each big sigh of relief, focus on certain muscle, your jaw , neck, shoulders, pelvis and which ever part you think of becomes tight when you are anxious.
You can use this breath to let go of fear, anxiety, pain.
How wonderful and simple. Try this before we head to know more and more about breathing
All the best
