Masala Telugu Movie Review: It is a rib tickling movie. A “Don't Miss It” movie for comedy lovers.
Genre: comedy/ action Entertainer
Cast: Venkatesh, Ram, Anjali, Jayaprakash Reddy
Director: Vijay Bhaskar.
Masala Story: Rehman (Ram) lives in Hyderabad with his sister Sania (Anjali). They loose their ancestral property in a civil case. MS Narayana, a well wisher and family friend advices and convinces them to move to his place Bheemarajavaram where he assures Rehaman a job under his boss Balaram (venkatesh), who is a kind -hearted man yet powerful. At certain point, Rehaman tends to lie that there is brother for him too. Rest deals with how he manages dual life by using tricks.
Analysis: The film 'Masala' doesn't have much story or a great plot but director Vijay Bhaskar made every one laugh their lungs out throughout the film. Hilarious acts between Ram, Venkatesh, Ali and Jayaprakash Reddy bought some tummy ache. Except few minor changes in dialogues there is not much manipulation done in the story. Ram's effeminate character is a rib tickling one. Very poor VFX work in the climax ruined the interest and emotion.
Teluguone Perspective: The movie is a worth watching for its comedy. cheerfully cheesy jokes made audience glued to their seats. Scenes of cars crunching at ear-splitting decibel levels was made completely in Rohit Shetty style. The only appreciable things in the movie are good Andhra style gags. Director showed no concentration on the plot or the story but just made everyone laugh heartfully. Even the screen names are funny enough. Jayaprakash Reddy's name in the movie is Eddulodu (Buffalo man) and MS Narayana as musalodu (old man). Vijay Bhaskar has inserted funny and buttler English in what ever the areas possible. The movie is a must watch for comedy lovers.
Performances: Ram's performance was good. His character as Rehaman in a gay role is humorous. Venkatesh looks usual in his powerful sturdy look. Jayaprakash Reddy and MS Narayana did their part well. Anjali looks too gloomy in her character. Shajan Padamsee did justice to her character.
Technicalities: camera did a lot of work. Fights were good and music played a vital role in the movie. Thaman came out of box and escaped the award “copy” from audience.
Positives: Good Gags
Music
Performance
Negatives: No proper plot
Poor VFX
Final word: Masala is a worth watchin for all the comedy lovers.
Masala Movie Rating: 3.25/5
