Chetan Krishna after an unsuccessful debut decided to try his luck with a big budget film, Dhoom Dhaam. Hebah Patel acted in the leading lady role and a slew of prominent character actors performed in supporting roles. Let's discuss about Dhoom Dhaam in detail.
Plot:
Ramaraju (Sai Kumar), a loving father, wants his son Karthik (Chetan Krishna) to succeed in life. To ensure this, he clears every obstacle in Karthik's path, allowing him to see only the positive and successful side of the world, shielding him from struggles and hardships. In his happy-go-lucky life, Karthik accidentally meets Suhana (Hebah) and falls head over heels in love with her.
However, their relationship faces turmoil when Karthik discovers a bet between Suhana and her friends. Disheartened, he accepts his father's proposal of marriage to Shruti (Harshini). The rest of the story explores whether Karthik will find success in love or settle for an arranged marriage, accepting his fate.
Analysis:
Chetan Krishna couldn't really impress us with his acting skills. He is too cardboard-ish and looked very aware of camera throughout. The character needed ease in body language and a more free-flowing performance from him. Maybe he needs some more training before he takes on another film.
Hebah Patel, Sai Kumar, Vennela Kishore tried their best to put life into scenes. But they did not get any clear direction to give a consistent performance. Music by Gopi Sundar is good in places and BGM is also consistent with the scene requirement.
The production values are excellent as we could see the budget spent on screen. Also, camera work in decent in places but mostly it is underwhelming. The movie did not really have a consistent script that flows through. Rather it has some outdated ideas and borrowed scenes.
Movie falls flat with each following scene and the director lacks any kind of vision. It almost feels like he tried to ape many other films to make one rather than telling his story. The messy screenplay and uninspired making lets down the film big time.
In Conclusion:
Movie looks lavish but never works at any level.
Rating: 1.5/5
