Brahmotsavam has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. With a majority of them siting that the movie is extremely slow paced and that it seems more like a television serial than a movie on screen. In order to stop the negative publicity from ruining the fate of the film, the makers are said to have decided to trim down the length of the movie by almost 18 minutes, editing a song in the first half as well. Time would only tell if this trick would save the movie any further.
