Over 10,000 attend the biggest and most spectacular Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations in Dallas outside Telangana.
Dallas has it! From weather to the culture from people to the festivities. Leveraging the strengths Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas (TPAD) organized one of the biggest show of Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations outside of Telangana. It was a day long festivity but surely a yearlong planning. The venue said it – Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco home to some of the largest and finest shows that happen.
The venue was indoor, nevertheless the weather lent credence to the overall celebrations and all roads led to the venue. The enthusiasm was visible as people came as early as 11.00 AM. The festive look, the mystic air and the preparations set the right tone for the huge program underway. Women were at their pinnacle best with colorfully donned Bathukammas and were seen dancing to the Bathukamma tunes. The organizers ensured no stone unturned for the attendees to have gala of time. The cultural activities were planned diligently so the audience would enjoy throughout. From folklore to classical, trendy to frenzy the participants showed their prowess.
However the best of the program was yet to come during the prime time show. Over 1000 women formed a gigantic circle while the beautifully adorned Bathukammas were centrally placed. As the live beats and the traditional Bathukamma songs were being played it was nothing short of a festival you wanted to be at. The cultural program line up included singer Revanth, Saketh, Sai Shilpa, Sameera, Actresses Nandhini Rai Swati Dixit and the famous anchor Ramya Krishna aka. Raccha Ramulamma. Her dialect was the biggest attraction for the evening. The other dignitaries included Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy MLC from Telangana, Narsi Reddy the TDP spokesperson, Venkat Reddy AAP Convener of Telangana, Atmacharan Reddy ex., M.P among others. At the program City of Irving proclaimed as TPAD day and the proclamation was read and announced by the Deputy Mayor.
The core members Ajay Reddy (Foundation Chair), Mr. Raghuveer Bandaru (BOT-Chair), Mr. Rao Kalvala, (Foundation Team member), Upender Telugu, (Foundation Team member and event coordinator) and Madhavi Sunkireddy (Convener, 2015) welcomed the audience for the biggest happening Bathukamma, Dasara celebrations and thanked each and every one for being part of the most happening event. A mesmerizing show was then unleashed by the singers conjoined with some admirable dances. Saketh’s song from Bandook took the audience into a trance and the whole arena stood up for his song and the lyrics by Goreti Venkanna. A special 22 minute Tollywood compilation that included dances stole the show. Other TPAD and community leaders included Vijay Pitta, Janaki Mandadi Mahendar Kamireddy, Raj Gondhi, Pavan Gangadhara, Ashok Kondala, Sharada Singireddy, Ganga Devara, Praveen Billa, Ram Annadi, Sreenivas Vemula, Sudhakar Kalasani, Rajender Todigala, Anand Kathroju, Indrani Pancharpula, Linga Reddy Alwa, Satish Janumpalli, Sreenivas Gangadhara, Sathya Perkari, Sumana Basani, Karan Poreddy, TPAD advisors, Venu Bhagyanagar, Vikram Janagam, Naresh Sunkireddy, Manohar Kasagani and Ravi Shankar Patel.
Several National Telugu Organizations announced their support for the Grand Bathukamma-Dasara Sambaralu, Dr. Raghava Reddy, Dr. Sridhar Reddy Korsapati, Ramsurya Reddy, Jaychandra Reddy, Darga Reddy from NATA, Vikram Jangam, Mahesh Adibhatla Mahendar Kamireddy from T.A.T.A Vishweshwar Kalvala, Ravi Shankar Patel from TDF and local Telugu Organizations, Dr. Narsimha Reddy Urimindi, Subramanyam Jonnalagadda, Krishna Reddy Uppalapati, Ram Kasarla, Mahendar Ganapuram from DATA, Srinivas Reddy Gurram from TEA. A special felicitation was performed by Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy to Dr. Premsagar Reddy who flew in especially from Los Angeles to attend the celebrations in Dallas. He was joined by Rajeshwar Gangasani president-elect from NATA and the entire NATA team were part of the felicitation.
Several senior community leaders and TPAD well wishers Dr. Prasad Thotakura, Dr. Srinivas Gunukula, Dr. Alla Srinivas Reddy, Dr. C.R. Rao and Mr. MVL Prasad, Mr. Gopal Ponangi, Mr. R.K Panditi, Mr. Sante Chary, Drs. Sudha Kalvaguntala attended the event.
