With the TRS President calling for a Bandh today in protest of the Polavaram ordinance , normal life has been affected in the Twin cities and other Telangana areas. RTC buses went off the roads in all 10 districts including Hyderabad. Shops, hotels and business establishments were also shutdown in many parts of Telangana causing great inconvenience to the public. Many people were left stranded in all major bus stations unaware that the Bandh was called for. With the TRS leaders standing outside the depots and preventing the buses from moving added to their misery. The local city buses in the Twin cities were hit and many employees were forced to use the services of autos who were fleecing them by charging exorbitant rates as the helpless passengers were left with no choice.
The Supplementary Intermediate exams have been postpones and schools which were set to reopen after the summer did not reopen in lieu of the band. With the TRS Chief K Chandra Sekhar Rao set to take charge as the CM of Telangana on June 2nd this government supported bandh has led to widespread criticism among the public that even before the ascent as CM if he calls for a bandh how would the future of Telangana be. The villages which are going to be submerged because of the dam come in the Khammam are and as per the Polavaram ordinance they will be merged with rest of Andhra state and KCR wants these areas to stay with Telangana hence the protest.
